I'm Kristina,
With over 3 years of experience as a Product Designer in Healthcare and a decade of caring for patients as a critical care nurse, I bring a deep human lens to every design challenge.
My work is grounded in empathy, shaped by real-world problem-solving, and driven by a genuine understanding of what people need when navigating complex, high-stakes systems.
At the heart of my practice is a simple belief: that good design can make people feel seen, supported, and empowered, especially in moments that matter most.

How I got started in User Design
Before becoming a designer, I spent 10 years as a registered nurse in labor and delivery and cardiac cath lab. I’ve always loved helping people, it’s what drew me to nursing. But over time, I grew frustrated with the technology we relied on and saw how much better it could be.
That’s what led me to product design: I wanted to make a bigger impact by creating tools that truly support both patients and the people who care for them.
What I've been working on
Most recently, I worked as a Product Designer at Marshfield Clinic Health System, a nonprofit serving over 1 million patients across Wisconsin where I led several high-impact projects aimed at improving the digital healthcare experience, including:
-
Designing and launching a patient journey mapping tool that visualized digital touchpoints across the organization, improving cross-team visibility, aligning strategies, and enhancing the patient experience system-wide.
-
Leading the research and redesign of a critical policy database with 86,000+ documents, boosting search success from 56% to 89% by making it more intuitive and accessible.
-
Designing a centralized mobile notification system that unified key health information, like appointments, lab results, and medications—resulting in stronger patient engagement and streamlined communication.
